Oatman, AZ is a functioning mining ghost town, famous for their gunfights and the Oatman Burros. These burros are protected, with the citizens of Oatman watching out for their welfare. Many people make it a point to go see these famous burros when in the area. You can purchase their special snacks and the burros are not shy about coming up to you looking for something to eat. While on a visit to Oatman, my friend had this one poke his head into his open car window looking for a snack.
